At Freedom Christian Academy, professional educators provide weekly, in-class lessons designed to inspire curiosity, build foundational knowledge, and foster critical thinking skills. Here's what we offer:
Our teachers create engaging lessons that combine traditional subject matter with hands-on and minds-on learning experiences, sparking student curiosity and deepening their understanding of each subject.
At FCA, we value the partnership between parents and educators. While our teachers provide high-quality Science and Social Studies instruction in the classroom, FCA homeschool parents are responsible for teaching the following subjects at home:

Overview: The K–2nd classroom will explore science and social studies through engaging thematic units. These units provide hands-on opportunities to enhance students’ understanding of science and social studies while supporting continued growth in reading, writing, and creative arts.
Learning to Read: This classroom is designed for students who are in the "learning to read and write" stage. While phonics-based reading lessons and structured writing activities are taught at home by parents, classroom lessons will complement this by incorporating interactive activities that encourage reading and writing in a collaborative setting.
Overview: The 3rd–5th grade classroom offers an exciting dive into science and social studies through hands-on experiments, collaborative projects, and independent work. Young scientists will develop critical thinking skills as they learn to ask questions, make predictions, and embrace mistakes as part of the learning process. Social studies will come to life with engaging topics in economics, geography, history, and culture.
Reading to Learn: Designed for students who are in the “reading to learn” stage, the 3rd–5th grade classroom builds on reading and writing skills. While parents focus on reading comprehension and structured writing at home, classroom lessons will integrate these skills through the study of science and social studies texts. This balanced approach helps students strengthen their reading and writing skills in a meaningful, subject-driven context.
Overview: The 6th–8th grade classroom is where students will take their science and social studies knowledge to the next level. Through deep exploration, students will create connections based on what they’ve learned, collect data from experiments, and conduct research to support their findings.
Reading for Critical Analysis and Synthesis: This classroom is designed for students who are ready to analyze, evaluate, and synthesize information from more complex texts. Students will develop their critical thinking skills, learn to form personal conclusions, develop arguments, and support their ideas with evidence.
Homework & Preparation: Middle school students will be assigned homework to prepare for upcoming classes, reinforce lessons and help them stay on track with their studies.
Our Wednesday Morning Studio Classes—called Studio: Beyond the Books—offer students the opportunity to go beyond their independent home lessons and engage in collaborative class learning. These studio sessions are designed to complement, rather than replace, your child’s core lessons in math and literature.
In Literature Studio, taught by Mrs. Clark, students will dive deeper into the material, explore themes and author perspectives, and develop critical thinking skills. In Math Studio, Mrs. Ayres will emphasize active problem-solving and real-world applications to deepen students’ understanding of basic mathematical concepts. The goal is to move beyond rote memorization and calculation, challenging students to apply their foundational knowledge creatively and critically to unfamiliar situations. —all of which extend far beyond the textbook lessons.
These Studio classes provide a unique opportunity to reinforce and connect students’ learning experiences, fostering both independent thinking and collaborative growth. There are 2 age group classes available: 4th-5th & 6th-8th.
Overview: Middle and high school students are invited to embark on a fascinating study of New Testament history in this comprehensive survey course. Students will explore key historical timelines and discover how biblical events intersect with world history. This class offers an in-depth look at the rich context of the New Testament, helping students understand its significance both in ancient times and in the world today.
The class will be taught by Pastor Phil Ayres of LifePoint Christian Church, whose passion for biblical history will bring these foundational teachings to life.
Freedom Christian Academy offers individual piano lessons for students in 2nd through 12th grades! This elective covers foundational skills like keyboard layout, note identification, and hand positioning. Students will learn to read music, explore basic theory (chords, key signatures), and develop creativity through improvisation and composition. The quarterly fee includes 12 weekly half-hour lessons to be set up with the instructor. A lesson book is required and will be purchased separately.
By the end of the course, students will:
Lessons will taught by LifePoint's own worship leader, Aleah Grabowski. Her heart for worship through music will help build confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of music in your students.
At Freedom Christian Academy, we recognize the vital role of recess and free play in a child’s development. Each day, our classroom teachers provide dedicated time for students to socialize and play with minimal adult intervention. During this time, students have the space and freedom to create their own games, engage in imaginative play, and enjoy the outdoors.
We believe that free play is just as important as the learning happening inside the classroom. Research supports this, showing that unstructured play fosters creativity, builds problem-solving skills, and promotes social development. As Dr. Stuart Brown, a pioneer in play research, says:
“Play is not a luxury. Play is a necessity.”
Studies have shown that children who engage in regular free play demonstrate improved communication, collaboration, and conflict-resolution skills. Play contributes to healthy brain development, helping children learn about themselves and others while building connections that support lifelong learning.
By allowing our students the freedom to explore, imagine, and connect during recess, we aim to nurture not only their academic growth but also their social and emotional well-being.
We've got the classroom experiences traditional homeschool families are looking for.
FIELDTRIPS: At Freedom, one of our goals is to provide opportunities for homeschool families to get out and explore Florida together. Fieldtrips will be available to our FCA families and additional homeschool families throughout the year at additional costs.
PARK DAYS: At Freedom, we love recess. Since we have a release time of noon, we encourage our FCA families to use these days as park/picnic days with other FCA or homeschool families. You never know when a FCA teacher might join in on the fun!
